"We had our holydays in Calella de Mar from 06/19/2010 to 01/07/2010. We hired a car for a week. Car was booked directly at the hotel "Olympia". We took the car through a guide who works here in the hotel. In this hotel car rental is offered by three firms: "Europcar", "Olympia" and "Avis."
Prices for car rental in all of these companies are about the same. We booked a car in the "Olympia" because the staff of that hotel speaks Russian. As we took the car for 7 days and rode with it a lot and everywhere, and so it was very important for us to have the ability to get informational support in Russian in case of necessity - just in case if something will suddenly happen to our rented car.
We took a car of “compact class”. In this class they had new Skoda Fabia and Seat Ibiza. New cars were all diesels. The prices were: for a rental time above of 5 days the price is 40.5 € per day, plus full car insurance for 18 € a day.
Due to the fact that we were planning to travel by car to France and Andorra, it was necessary to add on more of 22 € - for the entire period of the contract.
For 7 days of rental of a car Seat Ibiza (diesel - 1.9 l) we were charged immediately of 432 € from our credit card. With full insurance, there is no franchise. If you do not take insurance, then for a franchise you need pay 350 €.
Deposit of 200 € is required for cases not covered by insurance: that is, if you mix and pour into the tank is bad type of fuel; if you lost car’s keys, break the side windows; etc.
We paid with credit card for everything - the money were taken from it immediately, 200 € were not reserved. We took full insurance: people there park their cars very close one to another, and we decided that for the peace of mind we better do not risk and pay those 18 € a day.
